I like sharing information with people, especially if that information is about bookkeeping. Isn't it funny to think that we are all bookkeepers in some way? Think about it. What do you do when you spend money at the grocery store via your debit card? One usually checks their online bank account to see how much money they have left to spend for the week and make mental note of it. Others write the amount spent in a mini-journal containing all of their purchases for the current year. Still others already have that previous balance from the bank in their head, and now know the new balance. Simply by doing this one action, as menial as it might seem, makes everyone a bookkeeper in some way. You do not have to have an accounting degree to be a bookkeeper, even for yourself. The accounting degree is for someone who actually wants to be an accountant! Bookkeeping is beginning steps an accountant takes before making the big leap into the accounting world. So even though you may not be schooled in the ins and outs of all that is bookkeeping, you already have and practice the basic concept. And that is the most important step.
