Employment of bookkeeping, accounting and auditing clerks is projected to grow by 12 percent in the next eight years. And as NBC24 found out in this Get A Job Monday report, Owens Community College is getting ready. Employment experts expect the fields of accounting and bookkeeping to grow by 12 percent by 2016; largely due to an expected change in business international reporting standards. That controversial change will require retraining of those currently in the accounting field, but will also create more job opportunities.Owens Community College has seen a huge increase in the number of students going into accounting and bookkeeping, as its business program evolves. "We've seen more students in our two year program, and in our CPA Quality Certificate program," a spokesperson said.
